We are pleased to introduce our Athletics & Camp Director, Jason Rybak, or “Coach,” as some of our students already lovingly call him. Along with running Camp Clover, Jason will oversee the Physical Education, Outdoor Education and Health programs at the High Park and Midtown campuses. He will, also, manage community and team-building social events for the parent and staff communities.
Jason studied at University of Ottawa, University of Victoria and Brock University, receiving a Coaching Certification in Rugby, Track & Field, Baseball, Softball, Badminton, Basketball, Volleyball, Soccer and Personal Training. He became Founder & Director of Rybak Sports Academy (RSA), providing curriculum-enhanced Physical Education programs to the independent school sector across the Greater Toronto Area since 2003. Over his career, Jason has developed a program called Physical Education Philosophy: Foundational Phys. Ed Through Fiction, which he shares and models at a wide variety of independent teachers’ colleges (i.e MTC - Montessori Teachers College), professional conferences (i.e CAMT - Canadian Association of Montessori Teachers), and workshops across Ontario, specifically within the Montessori Community. Additionally, Jason has established leadership development programs, a wide spectrum of after-school and lunch programs, martial arts training and women’s self-defence workshops.
Jason has served in Camp Directorship roles every summer since 2003 and has been a camper at heart since 1986. He commits his entire year and career to physical education and promoting active living and mindful movement.
Outside of work, Jason is a black belt in karate and jujitsu and has been training in martial arts for over 30 years. He is a proud member of the Beaches community, an active player in the Ontario Marshall Premiership Rugby Division with the Balmy Beach RFC and a proud father of two amazing teenagers.
Coach Jason is excited to fully immerse himself in all things Clover School!
